If you can't pay your rent because of COVID-19 financial hardship or are being threatened with eviction for any reason, do not move out of your home. Only a court can order you to leave. You have rights and are protected by federal, state, and local laws. To understand these laws, please attend one of our workshops. Register for a workshop to learn more about your rights as a tenant and to connect with a tenant advocate or attorney. Workshops will cover tenant protections under the new state law Assembly Bill 3088, the Los Angeles County emergency ordinance and local city laws as needed. Additionally, tenants, will better understand what to do should they experience harassment from their landlord or have an eviction lawsuit filed against them.
