Stay Housed L.A.is a partnership between Los Angeles County, the City of Los Angeles, and local community and legal service providers. Together, we provide the residents of Los Angeles County, from Lancaster to Long Beach, with information and resources to keep people in their homes.

If you can't pay your rent because of COVID-19 financial hardship or are being threatened with eviction for any reason, do not move out of your home. Only a court can order you to leave. 

You have rights and are protected by federal, state, and local laws. To understand these laws, please attend one of our workshops. Register for a workshop to learn more about your rights as a tenant and to connect with a tenant advocate or attorney. Workshops will cover tenant protections under the new state law Assembly Bill 3088, the Los Angeles County emergency ordinance and local city laws as needed. Additionally, tenants, will better understand what to do should they experience harassment from their landlord or have an eviction lawsuit filed against them.

CA Mortgage Relief Program

Eligible homeowners for the California Mortgage Relief Program must meet the criteria listed below. (The criteria listed here is for informational purposes only & may not include all requirements. Eligibility & approval are determined by program administrator).

Household income of all household members over the age of 18 is at or below 150% of the Area Median Income. AMI Calculator

• Homeowner must currently own and occupy the property in Cal
• Homeowner may only own and occupy one property.
• Homeowner must attest that they experienced a Qualified Financial Hardship after January 21, 2020. The attestation must describe the nature of the financial hardship.
• For mortgage relief, homeowner must be at least two payments past-due by June 30, 2022. For property tax assistance, homeowner must be at least one payment past due by May 31, 2022.  
• For mortgage relief, past-due amount must be $80,000 or less at the time of application submission.
